Physical and mental S T R E N G T H
/Classes recently have all focused on a common theme: STRENGTH. Physical and mental strength.
But what does this mean and how do we actually do it?
In Preschool classes, we practice poses to give us "super muscles" like Crab, Three Legged Downward Dog and Warrior One. Little yogis have BIG strength!
For 5-12 yr olds, we placed cool stones at the top of our mats for focus (mental strength). "If something feels hard, look at your stone and remember how strong you are." Followed by amazing Plank challenges and a Glow-Yoga Dance Party for physical strength and stamina at Yoga Club. Not sure which was louder, the base pumping or our heartbeats... :)
In Teen classes, active flows left us sweaty and feeling accomplished physically and mentally. Our muscles were put to the test (hello quads!) as we built up strength and power.
It's pretty awesome to see the amount of pure strength that kids have -- doing things in yoga that are new, fun, and very rewarding. I'm looking forward to this week's classes as we keep building on this momentum!
