One of the most loved yoga poses?

When it comes to a favorite pose in yoga, kids are ALL about their favorites. Teens? Crow pose or half moon. Tweens? Partner poses, like double downward dog, for sure. Little yogis? A cute butterfly pose or balancing in tree.

But the most loved pose of all (honestly, for all ages)? It's the relaxation of shavasana. Just the simplicity of literally laying down, unplugging, and letting go. It's this...so peaceful and so needed. ❤️

But what about something like this during the day? Friends… it’s happening!

Building connections and so much more.

Building connections and so much more.

I didn't grow up in Rochester but even though I'm not born and raised, I absolutely the sense of community here. Going to Wegmans? For SURE you'll see someone you know. Heading to a park? You'll probably bump into a friend. Walking on the canal? Yup, give a wave to several familar faces. It's kind of this unique "big-little" city with a whole lot of connections.

One of the most challenging yoga poses?

One of the most challenging yoga poses?

When it comes to a good challenge in yoga, kids are ALL about it. Teens? Crow pose or working on their flexibility and mobility. Tweens? Partner poses are their jam. Double downward dog, anyone? Little yogis? Balancing in boat, flower or crane pose. But the most challenging pose of all? It's the simplicity of unwinding. Of just allowing themselves to lie back, relax, and let go.

A great quote from a great instructor.

A great quote from a great instructor.

I heard something yesterday that really made me pause and reflect. It was during a Yoga for Athletes session with 15 strong and talented teens. I was teaching alongside Heidi, my fellow teen instructor, and she found the perfect words.

"Yoga pushes you -- both physically and mentally. Live in that moment. Be proud of yourself. Let it all go."
